A collective walking route, a map created, starting from the train station in Piraeus and ending at the square of the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus. Spectators are invited to follow, actively participating and moving along with the dancers, creating a chain reaction of dance, movement and gait compositions. The “Street Horizons” initiative brings together active social groups of Piraeus, in their joint effort to look at the horizon in a different way.
Choreography was conceived as a form of collective organization. The dance is treated as a social event. Individuals become a source of inspiration, a context where people can dance, coexist and propose a new “horizon” of collaboration, expression and communication. The possibilities for freedom of the body are explored through dance within the same context that limits it. With the active participation of human bodies in the negotiation of freedom, dancers and audiences, curious and full of wonder, but without hesitation, will explore these possibilities. The key element is readiness to respond to what is gradually revealed.
