The Asphalt Art Kaisariani project was carried out in 2023 by the Municipality of Kaisariani under the guidance of the Greek office of STIPO and the cooperation of the EPLO Institute of Circular Economy and Climate Change. Through participatory processes with KAPI, schools and local residents and professionals, we developed a temporary tactical urbanism intervention aimed at improving road safety for pedestrians in a central hub of Kaisariani and raising awareness of the local community through art about accessibility issues, two claiming the public space for the pedestrian, as well as inclusion in the design of the site. The project was supported and funded by the Bloomberg Philanthropies Foundation.
