MARIANNA KAPLATZI

I have been active in organizing film and cultural events since 2006, having collaborated with important festivals, institutional and independent bodies, initiatives and projects in Greece and other European countries. Since 2018 I have been a member of the Balkan Can Kino film project, having curated many programs and actions in Athens, in other cities of Greece, and abroad. From a research and professional point of view, I am interested in the relationship between the public sphere and cinema and the reapproach of cinema as a special socio-cultural experience and medium of expression. At the same time, I work as a translator and editor with working languages Greek, English, French and Spanish. After graduating from the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpretation of the Ionian University, I pursued graduate level studies in Cinema and Cultural Management (London, King's College & Thessaloniki, Department of Film — School of Fine Arts of Thessaloniki) and in Foreign Translation (M.Sc. of the Theological Sciences of Thessaloniki).
