Fiona Eva Bakas, PhD (University of Otago, 2015), is a tourism researcher with international teaching experience and over 20 years of corporate and academic work experience. Having completed two postdocs (2014-2020), she is currently a lecturer in tourism at the Lusófona University and at IGOT, at the University of Lisbon, in Portugal. Fiona is an associate researcher at the creative tourism observatory CREATOUR Observatório and at Deree -The American College of Greece and an associate member of the NGO Equality in Tourism. Research interests: festival-carnivals, gender in tourism work, sustainable tourism, marginalised areas, women's entrepreneurship, qualitative research methods, and creative tourism (culture+tourism+local development).
