With a career spanning nine years in scientific communication, public engagement and outreach, Evgenia has contributed to a variety of initiatives aimed at strengthening public engagement in innovative environmental projects across Europe. As Founder of DISSCO and Scientific Communicator and Project Assistant at the Paul Scherrer Institute, she leverages her experience in project management to design and implement innovative science communication strategies, using storytelling, citizen science, and activities with a fun nature. Eugenia holds a master's degree in Atmospheric and Climate Science from ETH Zurich in Switzerland and a degree in Environmental Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace.
Her expertise is deeply rooted in her collaboration with some of Europe's most renowned innovation centres and scientific institutions, such as EIT Food and Climate-KIC. Her passion for sustainability is not just a career path but also a way of life, which she approaches with energy, while developing a wide network of contacts with expert scientists, active communities and innovative start-ups.
Eugenia is committed to democratizing research and integrating science as a participatory process for all. Its engagement strategies span a range of platforms, from digital channels to in-person events, effectively reaching people wherever they are on their environmental journey. Her work is driven by the belief that everyone should be able to contribute to and benefit from scientific advances, particularly in the context of environmental sustainability.
