Evangelia Goula is an artist and documentary filmmaker within the framework of Observation Cinema. She approaches sensitive issues of social and anthropological content in a visual way. Since 2013 she works as a teacher of art courses in Heraklion, Crete. In 2011, she graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts with the visual work “The Oldies”, a series of works that represent miniatures of elderly women living isolated in the Greek countryside. A few years later she completed her wider course of studies in the MSc program of A.S.K.T., M.S. “Digital Art Forms”. In 2017 she shot her first film “ITSAI ROMNI - The Girl Woman”, (Award-winning film), focusing on the position of the Gypsy woman with an indirect commentary on the position of women in modern society. She recently completed her second documentary film, OTI VAKERESA MANGE - Whatever You Say About Me, which focuses on the adventures of a large Roma family, bringing to light a profound story of love, strength and perseverance highlighting the equality and dignity of human life. Her works have been presented in many Greek group exhibitions and her documentaries have been shown at Dienthei Festivals in Greece and abroad.
