Dr. Dimitra Kizlari studied History, Archaeology and Museology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in cultural policy and management. She completed her PhD thesis on National Cultural Institutes at University College London on a scholarship from the Onassis Foundation (2015-2019). At the same time, she has been selected as an external evaluator at the European Commission, where she evaluates proposals for European cooperation projects submitted under the Creative Europe programme and as a Special Expert to the Council of Europe and the Arts Council of Canada.
Her first attempt at writing in Greek concerns the subject of her doctoral research. The book “Greek Cultural Diplomacy: Modern Approaches — Future Challenges”, published by Epicentro Publications, is the fruit of several years' work. THE presentationit was presented at the Thessaloniki International Book Fair, in November 2021, and has already been included in the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Macedonia, as a university textbook.
With the participation of 13 other authors, academics, and administration officials in ministries and cultural organizations, and in collaboration with Dr. Maria Siehate, this collective volume explores a multitude of topics of Greek cultural diplomacy. Among other things, the Onassis Foundation, with its diverse activities in Greece and abroad, she has her own chapter in the collective volume, which is signed by Dr. Prodromos Tsiavos, Head of Digital Development of the Onassis Foundation.
